How do we go from sisterhood to 2 on pref?
by: PnmDoes it matter how we rank the houses right before pref? What if more than two houses give u a bid, then does it take into account the pnms ranking?
#1by: Ranking before pref
Up until bid day, you are receiving invitations to return to x number of sororities. You get a bid, an invitation to become a member of a sorority-only one-on bid day.
Ranking the sororities is important everyday, but because you can only attend a maximum of two pref parties it is important to pick the two where you feel you would fit in the best.
#3by: sisterhood to pref to bid
Your rankings after sisterhood are used the same way as in the other rounds to determine which two houses you will pref.
You will only get one bid and it will come from one of your two pref houses. This is not like fraternity rush where rushees can get multiple bids and choose one.
If you attend a sorority's pref, you are on their ranked bid list somewhere, and your rankings of them are given more importance in bid matching than in the other rounds. You are guaranteed a bid to one of your two pref houses if you rank both of them.
For bid matching, you will rank your pref houses #1 and #2. The algorithm starts at the top of a sorority's ranked bid list and tries to match with the pnm's who put them as #1. If you are high enough on your #1's house ranked bid list to match with them before they reach quota you will get that bid. If not, and they reach quota before they get to you, the algorithm will then try to place you with your #2 in the same way. If you aren't high enough on their list to match with them either, you are guaranteed a bid to either house even if it puts a house over quota. The algorithm will place you at one of the two by taking into account your ranks of the two sororities, your place on their bid list, and the membership sizes of the two houses.
If you are invited to two pref houses and only put one down on your card, and you don't match with that house before they reach quota, you will not get a bid at all. Think carefully about this when you rank after pref.
If you are only invited to one house for pref and you attend and put them on your card, you are getting that bid.

I also know a couple of cases in my house and some in others that a PNM has been ranked high on the list after pref and they ranked my house or the house #1 but the PNM did not get a bid for that house for some reason.
Maybe the girls were not telling the truth but the girls were genuinely upset for not getting my house or the house they ranked first.
Just know that if you are invited to a pref round that means the house can see you as one of their sisters.
