What are Good Grades

Let’s be honest about grades because 99% of the releases after 1st round are grade cut offs.
The most popular OR houses are releasing PNMs that are below a 3.8. Unless your parent is a VIP on campus or with a local alumni chapter or you have 20 Actives advocating for you, if you have a GPA below a 3.8, you are going to be released from AXO, AGD, XO, and KKG after first round and possibly DDD and PiPhi.
If you have a GPA below a 3.2 your releases after 1st round will be severe. My cute, outgoing roommate last year with a 3.2 was released from all the houses except 3 after first round. She got a NR bid and is happy but she was devastated the first night!
If you make the grade cut, then other factors are considered (connections, involvement, looks, etc). It’s why awkward girls with a 4.1 still get released after 1st round but they at least had the other stuff taken into account.

You really have to have the grades. There is so much grade inflation and also ways to boost a gpa with certain courses that there is no excuse. It's just common at this point. Let's face it, the way we still do recruitment is insane. If grades are the cut off, it is what it is. The only way it is not fair is if you are in a very regimented program that having a 3.8 is unlikely. You will then be an unfortunate statistic. Nothing is perfect in recruitment week.

This. I know PNMs in the houses this person listed that got bids with 3.2-3.7. Disclaimer that the lower end girls are usually legacies, but I know non legacies in AXO/XO/AGD with 3.5-3.7s.
