What fraternities/ sororities plan the best social events? Formals, weekenders, etc. and where do they typically go?

They all have really great ones in their own ways! Pretty much all of the fraternities have Nola formals. I really can only speak for old row so most of these events will be about that. As for fraternity date parties, SAE’s Stockholders, DKE’s Undertakers, Phi Delt’s Palladium, Fiji Island week, KA’s highlanders, and ATO’s Viking one are all super desirable invites when it comes to fun spring events! Some of the best swaps are monster swaps like the ones between KKG, KA, XO, and SAE. KD has a super fun off campus date party called Dazed and Confused in the fall that a lot of fraternity guys really look forward to getting an invite for. Phi Gam’s Great Pumpkin is also one of the best fall date parties. I know phi mu has a really fun swap with phi delt that’s boxing themed and the boys all wrestle on stage. Speaking of Phi Delt, the best event of the spring in my opinion is Darty Gras which is hosted at the phi delt house along with ka and dke. As for band parties, snu ALWAYS has the best live performances from both bands (stews, 87 nights) and djs (b.o.b. etc.) I love SAE for gamedays (great food and clean bathroom stocked w/ stickers, tide pens, feminine supplies, etc.) In the spring, there are a lot of fun philanthropy crawfish boils with bands and events like snu-mu, kappa-ka, and tri delt-phi delt!

And that’s just some of my favorite OR social scenes! Overall, you’ll get a great social fill no matter where you go!

When did KA stop calling it Old South? I’m glad they did, just curious how long it was changed.

Pretty sure they still do, at least on social media posts. Sorry I forgot to include that above cause I was just thinking of highlanders with the kilts. They stopped doing the uniforms and all that a few years ago tho
