Ranks that make sense 2023

It makes sense to rank new row separate from old row. Rush is different for those who are already well connected and that competitive factor is part of the reality. If you don’t have ANY connections at all to old row and are coming from out of region (north, west, east) - you should rank them slightly lower and concentrate a little more on New Row. Old Row houses that took more out of region pnms last rush were DDD, AGD, PM, AXO and KKG. KD and XO do not take many girls that are not from the South.
Rankings are fluid and they can change any time, but before Rush you should think about where you truly have existing connections and rank those higher. Then during rush it’s all about finding the chapters that want you and where you feel you are comfortable because. Ranks don’t matter if the house just doesn’t fit.
Some chapters that are less popular here are better and more desired, for people who fit better because of their personality or goals. Go where you fit. Every chapter at Bama is strong. Think about social, achievement, studies, religion, geographic fit, etc to make sure to adjust rankings to your personality. Girls that want to have fun and party don’t want a house that just studies all the time and vice versa.

From Alabama: PM, DDD and AGD lower
More Religious: DDD, KD and KKG lower
Like to Party: AXO, XO and AGD lower
More Studious: PM, KD, KKG or DDD lower
Out of Region: XO, KD or KKG lower
YT and TT girls: KD, KKG or AXO lower
Obviously, strong connections, ties and legacies and certain geographic areas will make any chapter your most desired Old Row house despite any ranking.
NEW ROW:
ZTA, PBP, ADPI
DZ, APHI
DG, AOPI, GPHI
SK, KAT
considerations for fit:
From South: KAT, DZ, GPHI lower
More Religious: KAT, ZTA and APHI lower
Like to Party: DG and SK lower
More Studious: KAT, APHI, GPHI lower
Out of Region: AOPI is more Southern
YT and TT girls: all new row is accepting
Again strong connections, ties and legacies and certain geographic areas will make any chapter your most desired Old Row house despite any ranking.
Rush is all about trying to keep and open mind, seeing who asks you back and then really thinking where you fit best.
Sometimes it just helps to separate Old Row and New Row depending on your existing ties going into Rush.

I like how this is more about fit than ranks, because really the ranks are different for different people depending on what's important to them. BUT, be careful telling PNM's to change their rankings based on where they are coming from and whether they have connections. I didn't have connections to a single person at the school and came from out of state and ended up in a OR house that people said I had no chance with. I love my house and if I had listened to people telling me to rank them low from the beginning, they may have fallen off my schedule early on and I wouldn't have ended up where I am now.

KD, KKG and AXO were ranked lower for YT or TT girls because those are houses that presumably have social media policies.
I will say, if you are smart about your social media, AXO seems to be fine in the last year with people posting on TT. You just have to be smart about it.

I think the purpose isn't to tell girls NOT to rank an OR house if that is what you really like, just keep an open mind with ALL houses as a lot of the above-mentioned houses have many girls with connections.
You really do have to trust the process. Just don't cry if you get dropped by a house you think you will get.
