Rushing as an international student

Hi, I am an incoming freshman from Sweden who is planning on rushing in the fall. I have read a lot about the sororities at UA and understand that it is very competitive. Will I be at a disadvantage when rushing since I’m not from the south? I spent a year as a foreign exchange student at a high school in Melbourne Beach, Florida 2 years ago and many of my friends from there joined sororities which is what sparked my interest. I would love to get advice on how to get letters of recommendation as well since I don’t know very many people who are alumni from sororities.
