Truthful Rankings w/ Explanation
by: Being Real
These rankings are clearly just one girls opinions. I took GPA, retention and PNM desirability into account. I also mixed in a bit of social reputation on campus, but if i were more rigid with that these rankings would look considerably different (I’m sure you can guess which houses would move up and which would plummet).
top: phi mu, axo, kkg
mid top: kd, agd, xo
lower top: tri delt, zta
upper mid: piphi, adpi
mid: gphi, dz, aphi
lower mid: dg, aoii
bottom: theta, sk
bottom bottom (most people don’t even include these, but might as well): adx, sdt
The way I see it, there is a lot of crush rushing within the tiers. Still a lot when considering the tier above and below. even less cross rushing the further away from each tier. For example, ADPi cross rushes a lot with PiPhi. They cross rush a little less but still commonly with DZ, GPhi, APhi, Tri Delt, ZTA. The cross rush least with Theta, SK, Phi Mu, KKG and AXO. I put Tri Delt on the same tier as ZTA because I feel that ZTA honestly has more pull and hype with PNMs, but Tri Delt is OR and that comes with certain advantages NR just doesn’t have access to. But I think Tri Delt is honestly one of the least desired OR houses. All the others have some prestige and weight behind their names. Tri Delt just doesn’t IMO. APhi used to be on the same row as PiPhi and ADPi (sorry but neither of you come close to touching ZTA), but given recent scandals and horrid GPA and other retention issues, I’ve moved them down a tier. They still have a good reputation with guys on this campus, which is something I guess (more infamous than good, but at UA infamous is good). PiPhi and ADPi are excellent houses and out of new row, if I was dropped from ZTA, I would heavily pursue either. Good social rep, good grades, good sisterhood. Pretty well respected for NR, although sometimes there is discourse that girls in PiPhi are psycho (they seem more energetic than psycho to me, but I feel like that’s a negative quality they need to be mindful of so it doesn’t completely get out of hand). ADPi had some pretty significant in-house drama the year before last if my memory serves correctly, but they seemed to have resolved it. Their sisterhood seems strong and they do not often have issues within their sisterhood. DG and AOII honestly could move up a row and we could get rid of the lower mid tier completely, but people seem to be convinced we NEED this tier. So I put them at low mid because I don’t think they’re the same tier as SK and Theta, especially taking PNM desirability into account. AOII and DG still don’t have a great social rep, kind of just not talked about often. Okay grades. Just mediocre. SK and Theta are easily the least desirable houses during recruitment. Basically no social rep at all. I do think Theta recruited some really pretty girls this past year, but that doesn’t really matter as far as their ranking goes. Why doesn’t it matter?? Because it clearly has done nothing to boost them socially. Honestly, I would move SK down to bottom bottom because I find them considerably worse than Theta desirability wise, but in every other aspect I’m basing these rankings off of, they’re the same.

I can’t go with Tri Delt being this low. I’m not a Tri Delt but a lot of girls want them, maybe it’s the combination of them being good on this campus and also good in a lot of other states, so OOS likes them. When I went through rush last year, this was my hope:
Try to get into Kappa, XO, AXO or DDD
If that doesn’t work, try for Zeta, AGD
If that doesn’t work try for KD or Pi Phi
Then move on to ADPi and DZ
The only reason I wasn’t trying for PM is because they are so bad in my state. I know they are good here but I didn’t come in wanting that house.
