I'm not in a bama sorority but for my sorority having members follow you is a good sign. Usually these girls are in bump groups and are scouting out pnms before recruitment. Social media chair is who controls who the house account follows. Having actives follow you is a good sign but it doesn't guarantee a bid. Good luck and have fun at recruitment.

No, it doesn't really mean anything to count on for your actual rush. The houses themselves here are prohibited from following pnm's during no contact, which is now, but individuals may follow as long as they don't comment. Individuals will follow you because you are of interest to the sorority, but it's in an entirely preliminary way. Anything can happen during your rush, but reaching out is just good marketing on their part. Pnm's should not be mislead into thinking they have an advantage from being followed.

Instagram follows from members in a house can mean you are on their radar.

House follows can mean an active member knows you and asked the social media person to follow you, or maybe you have a sister in that sorority at another southern school so they are following you as a legacy, even though officially nationals of most sororities got rid of legacies, it can still get you noticed.

None of this guarantees you a bid. I’ll add that if during rush, you don’t look like your filtered photos you will be judged for that, so go easy on the Insta filters.
