How was your rush experience?

Did you join OR or NR and are you happy in your house?

I’m from Texas, so I guess that’s considered in region, but some of my closest friends in my house are from OOR. They are from the Midwest and east coast. We are in a house that people on this site claim only takes in state girls who went to church camp together or something. Every one of us kept old row houses on our schedule all the way through and the other house I preffed is another one that this site tells us only takes Bama church camp girls. Whatever. I didn’t know a single person in the entire state when I moved into my dorm. Just go to the houses, meet people, and do your rankings each round based on who you like and where you feel comfortable.

So you preffed AXO & AGD and you are one of five OOS?

Midwest girl here. Plenty of OR options all week. Went to pref round with NR house as top pick and OR house (also known as Bama church girls like comment above) as 2nd pick. Ended up in NR house ( very happy)but would have been good with either.

OOR Midwest. Honestly, recruitment is generally “easier” for us.

I had a great experience - full card, OR and NR options, got to pref with houses that were my favs and went NR (which was my choice) and love it.

FYI - I knew only the basics, had a few rec letters (do not think that mattered much), and struggled with the Greek anlphabet early on, lol.

It’s easier because as OOR you don’t feel the pressure (and possible exclusion) of people you know during recruitment.

Yes recruitment can be stressful at times, but being “rejected” by someone you’ve talked to for a total of five minutes is much easier than being “turned away” by (what you thought were) life long friends. It often seemed mutual - didn’t care much for you either - despite some rank or other’s opinion making me feel like I should have liked someone or some house.

I’m here to meet new people and have new experiences. And am indifferent to whether I am hanging out with kids from some certain zip code. So my options were more open and I didnt feel the need to be in some certain house.

BTW - my opinions on houses are way different from what I see here and formed by the limited insight I have from the girls I meet.

In general, the “quality” of girls between houses is greatly exaggerated here. \n\n\n\n\n
