7 of the 8 largest houses at Bama are old row - just shows you who does a great job recruiting and retaining members.
#12by: Things to ponder
I would venture to guess that one discrepancy between the top 7 and the others in numbers is that the 7 sororities are known for taking more southern girls, while the other houses take more out of state and out of region girls. These out of state/out of region girls may become homesick or decide they don’t fit with the Bama culture and decide not to return to Bama hence the 30 or so less members than the 7 at the top.

This OR/NR is bs. Some insecure sororities chanting “ Save your Dixie cups, the South shall rise again!” This is 2023, sororities are integrated, diverse, inclusive, yes, lesbians! And thank you, Kappa, trans women. Pi Phi is deserving of recognition as a ‘top tier’ sorority. The ‘lower tier’ groups deserve recognition as ‘top tier’ for their GPA over the ‘top tier’ houses at the lower end.
Also, what was every groups TOTAL HOUSE NUMBERS with these numbers. This shows RENTENTION!

Why are some sororities so proud to be only inbred Alabama families? True sophistication, intelligence, and elegance comes from broader, evolved experiences! I had invitations to houses that wanted local girls only (I’m one) and they were the most insipid and self-serving convos I could endure. I’m thrilled to be in a sorority that welcomes elevated experiences over stagnant, sanctimonious sameness. Oh, hit me with, “Sorry we dropped you!” 🤦♀️😂🤣 to prove my point!

It shows different criteria for member selection. The houses on top of this list are well known for being selective on grades, reputation and involvement. The types of girls who put in a lot of effort in life in general tend to be the same types who get involved in the sorority and stick to their commitment for four years.
