The bigger picture problem
by: Keep in mindHere’s why it was important not to talk in in the documentary. For those 8 or so houses that had girls talk and having no repercussion come from it, other studios and film makers will take advantage of that and keep digging further until they can’t create something nasty and negative. Once people see the walls are weak, everyone begins to attack.

panhellenic will punish them through restrictions on swaps, socials, and events. panhel has all the power on those decisions. i just hope those 8 houses have a good pan del, and if you know a pan del in one of those houses, wish them good luck. fall semester is going to be brutal, not just this years recruitment. panhellenic took away alpha phi’s swaps and socials for years after the HB incident - even when all of the girls that were in the house at that time were long graduated

Everyone is blowing this out of proportion. This documentary is interesting as a portrait of college women's stuggle to fit into societal norms. As far as real drama, it was kind of a snooze. I just can't see why anyone else would find this stuff compelling enough to spend a large amount of money doing more.
If anything, everyone overreacting is just solidifying the negative parts of the Alabama sorority system that came out. I mean the narrative of the mean overarching Panhellenic out to punish any sorority who had someone participate (even when what they said didn't reflect poorly on rush at all) is just reinforcing "the Machine" stereotype.
Way to play into their narrative.

“i’m sorry, but actions have consequences”
🤣🤣🤣 What are you so scared about? Seriously. Continuing to talk about retribution just makes it seem like you have something to hide. And plays into the Machine stereotype that there is something to fear.
With the exception of Sigma Kappa, I don’t think any of the actives really reflected poorly on their houses. And I know everyone is making a big deal out of SR, but honestly if anything she was nothing but a positive light on the sorority process.
