Top houses depend on where you’re from

Mtn Brook girls would say KKG and KD are top. Mississippi and parts of Tennessee and Alabama would say XO and DDD are top. Huntsville girls would say AGD is best. Louisiana girls would say KKG, XO and KD. Birmingham suburbs would say AXO. Smaller Alabama towns would say it’s Phi Mu.
It’s all relative so quit wasting posts on trying to rank every house individually. And definitely quit trying to include Zeta in the list of top. LMFAO. Only TikTok trolls think Zeta is a good house. Everyone on campus knows their reputation is awful and girls in those letters get zero respect.

Girls that go in wanting Zeta already know they don’t have a chance getting an Old Row house. That’s the pool Zeta pulls from, which is why they’re a middle tier house.

Majority of the student population is out of state so majority of the student population doesn’t want to be in an old row house because why would anyone want to be in a sorority full of girls from the same high school???? they are in their own bubble the only old row houses who actually live outside of the bubble are phi mu and Tri delt

Old Row isn’t majority in state anymore, they just prefer girls from the south (from Texas to Virginia).

Yes, good point. OR now does give out-of-state girls bids from states that are super different than AL like MS, LA, GA...ha! Even TN, KY, and SC are way too outside of the South for them. The mindset is so crazy.

And, let's not forget the Southern superiority complex. Southern girls truly think they are better quality than OOR girls so they naturally judge NR houses that OOR girls want to be in because who would want a house that isn't 95% full of girls from the same 4 Southern states. The Southern attitude is so provincial.
PM, DDD, and AGD are more open minded...and the Southern girls judge them harshly for that.

ZTA has traditionally had a strong hold in north Florida. However, North Florida is extremely different from South Florida. South Florida girls typically go to more new row houses. Even though ZTA is new row, they are associated with a lot of old row fraternities. A lot of north FL girls also go XO , DDD, and KD. North Florida has some old money strong southern households, so that’s why the association with those old row houses

This post says it all. Girls from certain Southern zip codes want to go to the same houses. I mean, why would you want to go to college and meet new friends from all over the country?

It's so odd. I love Bama but I was not prepared for girls trying to flex their Southern zip codes that the rest of the country would NEVER consider elite in any category.

Awww sweetie Texas girls want PKT if they’re going to school IN TEXAS or want to rush here and transfer back to a Texas school. Girls that actually want to stay at Alabama usually go Kappa, Chi O or Tri Delt.

Theta is great in TX, but when girls come to Bama they know it’s not the same. No hate or anything, they have some great girls, but TX girls want houses that are top both places, which is KKG, XO and DDD.

I’m in a new row house and I love everything about it. But this is The University of Alabama, so of course the top houses (old row) are going to prefer girls from the South and girls they either know personally or can learn more about through their alumnae networks. I’m fine with the top girls going old row and I’m happy I found my place in new row.
I swear the people that scream the loudest trying to act like new row has top houses are all just jealous ZTAs.

People act like Old Row only takes girls from AL, MS and GA, but that’s not true. “In region” includes girls from TX, AR, MO, MS, LA, TN, KY, GA, AL, SC, NC, FL (panhandle only), and VA. There are also plenty of girls from NY, CA IL, and OH in Old Row.
Really the only state Old Row tends to skip over is New Jersey.

I met girls from all over the place in old row houses during rush.
If there are any PNM’s out there on this God-awful site (please don’t get your intel here), and you believe that old row doesn’t take oos and oor girls, just wait until rush week when you meet them all day long in those houses.

Girls from mobile and Mt. Brooke tend to go DDD, Kappa, or DDD. However, there are girls from all over the south in those houses too. DDD tends to get a lot of old money girls from Tennessee, Mississippi, and Texas. While KD tends to get old money girls from North Florida and Louisiana. Phi Mu gets a lot of girls from GA.

@Ok you are just making stuff up. Louisiana and north Florida do not go KD. Mobile and Mtn Brook (which you spelled wrong btw) are not DDD. PM does not have a lot from GA. Old money MS does not go DDD and TX isn’t DDD either.
You mentioned DDD so much you must be one.

You’re from Florida and wanted Zeta. That speaks volumes about you. Your odds of an Old Row house inviting you to pref would have been a very long shot.
