From an AGD Member
by: agdmemberI'm in alpha gam at Bama and really the only issues I have with the house is our leadership. The exec this year is just not the greatest (our exec last year was so so amazing but now it's just a clown show). It also doesn't help having a psycho chapter advisor and crazy people from internationals on top of all of that. Our exec can only do so much - it's more so internationals and the advisors who are the ones causing all of the problems. One time during work week last year we all got yelled at by the IHQ lady for having an "explicit" song playing while we were filming clips from a dance circle for recap videos - the song wasn't even going to be in the actual video there would be audio over it. Our president, within the last month and a half, also instated a thing where we can meet with her and give her some feedback. I'm literally in AGD and had no idea that the girl that made the Tik Tok got kicked out & that that drama was even going on. Now looking at the timeline I'm thinking the feedback for the President was created to try to prevent this situation from occuring again. Just because we are giving her feedback though, there's only so much she can do because again it's internationals and the advisor running the show.

I am a sophomore from OOS. My Mom was AGD. They cut me after sisterhood.
What I know now is that I wouldn't have been a good fit for the house as I am not religious and like to have a fun time without others telling what I can and cannot do.
With all of that being said - there are many girls in my house from "the region". VERY judgmental...not nice girls. I believe most houses have this. I am not going on here to destroy AGD. I find this whole thing very sad. I feel bad for the actives in the house that don't have anything to do with this. It seems like each year there is some sort of "scandal" and everyone jumps on the bandwagon to bring them down even further.
#4by: Long Term Problem
If the problems are caused by chapter advisors (who are usually well connected alumni or friends of well connected alumni), Nationals, and the rules that the chapter is mandated to follow, NONE of these problems will go away. This is who the house is because National rules and policies do not change quickly and individual chapters can not opt out of them. Also, collegiate members have no input on who their chapter advisors are and definitely can't change them.
One good rush or better chapter leadership among the members does not fix these problems.

Girl. You cannot blame this situation on a few people. This clearly is a flow in the chapter. Clearly no one was ready to stand up for her, and now you are non here trying to defend it. Just take accountability and apologize to the girl. Don’t get mad that people might not want to be a part of this

If y'all think that the reason she got kicked out was because of a survey, you're mistaken. There has to be way more to this story than anyone knows here, and good on AGD for keeping their mouths shut and their dirty laundry in house.
For the record, no sorority is a democracy. They all have rules to follow, a constitution, by-laws, policies and all that. The exec is in charge of ensuring that those things are followed. Ironically, MOST sorority by-laws, constitution and polices are pretty similar. Women need to stop thinking that they get to dictate to the sorority what they will and won't do. When you accept your bid on bid day and put those letters on your chest and in your insta or tik tok bio, you are representing something bigger.

At least twice in this thread I’ve seen people alluding to her putting her future jobs as well as her children’s future on the line. Really? I mean I guess possibly if you were going to stay in Alabama or possibly even the South. But if you move anywhere else, no one is going to care. She hasn’t used her real name so unless someone hiring happens to spend way too much time on Alabama TT or GreekRank they will never know.

Most houses don't like girls "that like to start trouble" and question things.
