Lord, don't try to find your future husband at an OR frat unless your dream is to spend your life in his small Southern town supporting him because he couldn't get a GPA higher than a 2.6. If his short dad has money, it's a maybe but then you still have his OR alumni mom to deal with for the rest of your life.

Lol have you not compared new row and old row gpas? Old row blows new row out of the water with average gpa.

In sum: Old Row pulls more heavily from the shallow end of the gene pool. New Row pulls more from the deep end. There are quality dudes in both, but Old Row will rank local Alabama high school cliques over many other qualities. The top New Row houses pull plenty of Alabama guys, but they also pull from every other state. The reverse is also true to a certain extent — there are non-Alabama guys in Old Row houses, but they are still pretty much the exception.

OR is Southern high school 2.0 for Southern dudes. They also stay pretty close to the OR girls they hung out from high school too. It's super fun and exactly what many of us were hoping for in college...more high school.

These descriptions are very inaccurate. If you want to rush an old row fraternity and you are OOS that doesn’t matter really. If you are a cool guy with the same calluses of the guys in that specific old row fraternity, then you will get a bid. It’s that simple. If you pull up in joggers, a chain, and a backwards flat bill. You will probably not get an old row bid, fyi.

The Old Row houses are all rich Southerners from mostly private schools.
All OR houses are Top Tier.
Top Tier New Row houses are Pi Kapp, OX, EX and Pike. The best of everything in these houses.
Then there the more academic NR houses like Sig Ep, ATO and Phi Psi.
Then there’s Beta on University. Which probably has more in common with some Jefferson houses like KS, DX or DTD. They have more of a laid back vibe.
Then there’s the rest of the Jefferson NR houses. LXA, ZBT, Chi Phi

Should also note that all OR fraternities have always been on University Blvd.
Whereas some of the oldest NR fraternities are still stuck on Jefferson.
Phi Psi was never considered NR. They have always been on University, but they are not OR either. They arrived on campus in the 60s. As well as Beta, but Beta has always been considered NR even though they’ve always been on University also.

Socially prominent in their irrelevant, Southern towns among the dudes they went to high school with you mean that are arrogant AF because their moms told them they are a catch and the girl that crushed on them in high school still lingers around them a their college parties because meeting new people is too scary.
You do understand how people outside your nepotist circle see you, right? If you stay in AL your whole life, you'll be fine and you, too, will raise some short kings who will pledge your frat. Circle of OR frat life.

OLD ROW fraternities are the LAUGHINGSTOCK of Greek life. NO ONE let me repeat NO ONE that is important considers OLD ROW top tier fraternities EXCEPT OLD ROW. They are a joke and mostly middle to bottom tier. ALL THE BEST FRATERNITIES ARE NEW ROW!, best looking, smartest, most fun. Generations of INBREEDING has not been kind to OLD ROW fraternity members unless you like them, short, pudgy and UNSOPHISTICATED.

A Rich family in a OR house owns the local mortuary or furniture store in their little town. The wealthiest have indoor plumbing instead of an outhouse and drive to the Gulf Shores for a holiday. NATIVE BAMAS are very, very unsophisticated people who early venture out of state because of the ridicule and laughts from more sophisticated states

Yes, there is some kind of height limitation among OR frats that they don't share publicly because I have never seen more dudes in one place that are 5'9" and shorter than an OR party. If you want to date someone 6' or taller, you are going to have to head to NR.
Even better is that the short kings on OR think that dating them is some kind of privilege. The OR girls believe it and they are happy just be there so it all works itself out.
