Grant was not discriminated against. They had a low GPA and a some disciplinary past issues around campus.

Maybe HBO can identify how many juniors with a lower than 3.0 GPA got bids. Until they show 1....it is not discrimination.

Rumors are also that Grant is not a nice person and may have an arrest record

Grant should take a bid at Sig Ep

Sigep isn't open to other genders

Our campus and community needs to put more emphasis and effort into creating inclusive spaces.

SigEp stands out as a forward-thinking fraternity in all issues, including gender. SigEp has traditionally treated gender as binary, when we live in a world with increasing awareness that gender is not always binary. SigEp’s membership is currently restricted those persons who identify as male, but there is limited space in Greek communities across the country for non-binary individuals to engage.

SigEp is leading the way towards the future of Greek organizations in the United States as gender inclusive organizations. SigEp is convening a task force to explore removing any screening of gender from its membership criteria and this will also expand SigEp’s recruitment pool.

If SigEp does that and actually implement to include trans men, then actually give bids to trans men, then they are done. Go woke go broke.

That is categorically false. SigEp nationals changed the bylaws in 2014

“Sigma Phi Epsilon is a national Fraternity built on the brotherhood and fellowship of men. Any individual who identifies as a man is welcome to seek membership in the Fraternity. This policy is intended to uphold the mission of Sigma Phi Epsilon as a fellowship of men and should not be interpreted as changing the all-male character of the Fraternity or as a waiver of the Fraternity’s exempt status under Title IX.”

This motion passed by an 8-0 vote with three abstentions, officially making Sigma Phi Epsilon the first fraternity to welcome transgender members.

To be gender neutral, it's now called the Balanced Individual Program

Sig Ep probably doesn't have enough clout to interest Grant

I can imagine Grant joining a mixed gender frat like Sig Ep in order to wear greek letters and do social stuff and have supportive "brothers" of different gender expressions and gender identities.

If this Grant person really wanted to do something worthwhile, they should invest time and energy into starting their own greek organization that is open to any gender. If this is something that people really want then they can put in the work to expand it to other campuses and see how it takes off. Let all these TTers out their money where their mouths are and join!

Those exist :) not on our campus but they’re on a few others.
But also just like when people say “why don’t black people just join divine 9” after someone qualified gets rejected from one of our chapters (of course that hasn’t happened for 8-9 years 👀). It’s giving very “separate but equal”. But I guess in this case it might be “don’t ask don’t tell”.
So just say you dont want trans people in your chapters! Yes yes grant didn’t have the grades that’s besides the point now. Don’t do this song and dance about how there’s other organizations trans people could join. Because just like in 2013, someone overqualified to be in one of our houses here will rush who is also trans and we will have to recon with all of this all over again. So decide now (since all of our nationals already did) is your chapter going to do the song and dance or just. E honest and say they don’t want trans women in their house.
