what is the social life of a geed like? i’m a girl for context. is it hard to make friends?

no it isn’t. if you do things you enjoy, and actually make an effort to talk to people you can make friends lmao. people take greek life here WAY too seriously. most of the people that aren’t in greek life do NOT care at all. you’ll be fine.

It's what you make of it. You will have to work harder to put yourself out there and get involved. Definitely go to Get on Board Day.

Just make sure you don't become a bitter GDI. Some social circles are vocally anti-Greek and it makes them targets for harassment.

I'm qualified to speak on this. My parents were VERY VERY antigreek. I wanted to be in a sorority so so bad. They said if I had a good freshman year I could rush when I was a sophomore. Yeah it was hard to make new friends and they then disappear into their sorority. I realized really quick I had to do something. I got involved in a club sport and another organization.

I never said "NO" to anything social. Not only did I make friends and meet new people and just have things to do. I always had something to do, even "Greek things" such as Philo events, date parties, frat formals. But got a whole life outside of the Greek scene. And in the process met a ton of sorority girls. With campus involvement, GPA and I guess popularity, I had a really good recruitment sophomore year!! I had so much fun as a "geed". If I wouldn't of joined a house my social life would of still been really fun.
