Rush advice for upcoming freshman

With there only being a few short weeks left until rush I just wanted to come on here and give some helpful reminders. (Coming from a girl currently in a sorority)

-don’t listen to anything on Greek rank because at the end of the day it’s just people trying to scare you.

-do take advantage of rush week as far as making new friends and stepping out of your comfort zone! I was so stressed the whole week of rush and now that I look back at it I wish I was able to manage my stress better to make my rush experience more enjoyable.

-be mindful of what you’re posting. Even though alabama is a huge school it’s crazy how easy things can circulate.

-go into it with an open mind. Lots of girls go into it already having an idea of what they want and change their mind so quickly.

-be polite to every girl you talk to at each house. (Even if it’s a house your totally not interested in). We have all worked so hard to make your rush experience as enjoyable as possible.

-don’t be nervous! This is just as nerve wracking for us as it is for you so at the end of the day we are all feeling the same way!

-be yourself. I couldn’t stress this enough, bc it’s going to be very hard picking out the connections you’ve made with each house if you aren’t acting like your every day self !

-don’t let other girls opinions effect your judgement or overall decision. Everyone is different and everyone likes and dislikes different things ! You want to be happy with YOUR overall decision.

-don’t let other girls bring you down or give you doubts. Be positive and block out the negative !
