To the incoming freshman class - here is the truth - Phi Mu and Zeta are top of the top. Then AXO, Chi, DDD, PiPhi, ADPi, AGD, and DZ.
KD and KKG are high school all over again.
APhi will rebuild.

Aphi will be just fine - this years class had a great group of girls. Most are from California, fun, and smart. I think they will rebuild and be more desirable to the next few classes.

I somewhat agree with the OP - a lot of girls do desire KD and KKG - but definitely have a lot more in state girls. They are getting better however if gaining more OOS girls.

Yes. Considering they always give out more than 20 bids compared to the other chapters here in the fall, having to do COB in fall and spring every year just to maintain their total numbers round about 360 - 400 A LOT new members and members drop each semester.

Maybe they still have growing pains since they started here.

I know DG and SK are newer chapters who can keep most of their members till senior year. But they are not doing this hardcore desperate wanna be top strategy like APhi HQ enforces. Maybe Aphi HQ are fine with their bad reputation?

You all know that when women get dropped from the top 4 many choose APhi because it is so good where they are from.

pnms - look for yourself. A bunch of southern alums from traditional southern sororities spend 24/7 on this site bashing APhi and KAT in the lead up to recruitment. Both are big national powerhouse sororities.

And other NR chapters also take a lot of women from all over the country. This is NOT riskier for them because THEY can KEEP their members and do NOT have these huge retention problems Aphi has.
