Every house has positives and negatives
by: .PNMs always search for the perfect house but the truth is every house will have drama, problems, and mean girls. Having 400+ women in one organization makes it bound to happen. You have to look for the best fit for you. If you find the girls you truly want to be with either during rush or after and stick with them, you will limit your involvement in drama and have a great experience. Every house attracts a different type of girl and with how many sororities are on UA's campus you will find the right fit for you. If fall rush doesn't work in your favor, try COB or rush again the next fall. Make sure that you are happy with your choice because at the end of the day those are the girls you'll be with for the next 4 years. If you join a house and quickly find yourself surrounded by petty drama, look for another group of girls to hang out with. You will find what you want if you go into rush with an open mind.

Rank highest the houses that make you feel welcome and wanted. The houses that aren't paying special attention to you at recruitment parties are already sending you a message about you will be treated as a pledge/member. I know so many girls that followed what they perceived to be the cool/highest ranked house even when they weren't feeling the love at the parties and ended up in houses that have made them miserable. Thankfully, I knew nothing about Bama greek life when I went through recruitment and judged the houses based on my personal experience. I love my house and it is a lower tier house based on GR...which makes me laugh. Don't be fooled by what a bunch of middle aged moms or other non-Greek people say on GR. Its all garbage.
