Question - how does fraternity rush work?

Sororities have set rush dates - fraternities do not? Do you need to be invited to a frat? Do potential members really reach out to the rush chairman to express interest? Thank you for scoop!

some will have social media posts.. check pi kapp and pike on ig
a lot of old row frats you need some type of invite
