im very worried about grades
by: pnm 2026so long story short, every single person on here knows how hard the last two years were. we've been in a pandemic and online school. I'm someone who didn't do well on online school, and by not well like very not well. especially with all of junior and end of sophomore years were online. my dream has always been to be in a sorority and im scared that because I focused on mental health and didn't do well in online school ill lose that. will sororities allow a little bit of grace/understanding to my class in regards to gpa? we genuinely did our best but we all know how hard online school and living through a pandemic has been.

she ain't wrong tho, sk and alpha phi (especially after the scandal) will take everyone. not to say that you're only gonna get them, depends on your looks personality and extra curricular

Aphi will have to take much more PNMs than others. Have a look at the grade reports. They always take huge PCs in the fall and spring because so many girls drop out. These are facts that everyone can look up.

zeta has relatively low gpa too! i've also seen phi mu gphib and aoii take lower gpa girls so you'll be fine girl!

The only houses that regularly take grade risks- under 3.0- are SK, GPhi and APhi. The others take one or two here and there but they are going to be highly connected, very wealthy, likely in-state or close region legacies or children of very famous/wealthy parents. Basically, if you don’t have a 3.0 and don’t have one of those things, you aren’t getting top, middle or lower middle house.

so a lot of sororities will have certain gpa cut offs. my advice would be to try to boost your gpa in anyway possible and have a lot of ECs. give fall recruitment a chance, if it doesn’t work out you can always wait a semester, work hard, and use your bama gpa to do COB or you can fall rush again your sophomore year. it’s not the end of the world… always prioritize on your mental health! wish you the best of luck <3

Sorry quick question! Did you mean dg when you typed dz? From my research dg has a really good gpa so is more strict in grades. Dz isn’t nearly as high according to the grade reports on the website. Thanks!

When you have people write recs for you try to find people that personally know you and could speak to your academic capabilities and how online learning was not the best format for you. Particularly if your HS GPA was higher as a freshman and sophomore, but noticeably ranked as a junior and senior, have people you know point to that to show that in a traditional environment you can succeed. Do whatever you can to present yourself as a non-risk.

Aphi will consider you as long as you are somehow hot and if you can pay all the dues. Even when you want to drop out be prepared to pay and pay and pay. Its a lovely sisterhood if you want to 💸💸💸

#9by: Community college courses
If you can take a community college class ( or two) this spring or a sprint class over the summer AND you do well, you can add that to your resume. They can also potentially transfer as a humanities. Think about taking a linear geometry or pre-calc makeup or a speech class.
