Why has aopi fell so much

tbh i think its bc ADPI and AOPI were the two most Alabama heavy NR houses. in the past decade, oos enrollment has increased significantly and sororities that tend to take more oos girls stepped it up and became more popular. aopi instead has faded into the background. they’re nice smart girls and if they stepped it up a little during recruitment could improve.

I’ve wondered this too. I think they’re a good house but almost swing TOO far in the direction of not caring about ranks and relevancy. I think it’s cool that they seem to prioritize having a good sisterhood and stuff over being popular, but I wish they’d step into the game a little more because the foundation is definitely there

Tbh it’s because they were one of the last houses to get a new house - it’s hard to recruit top girls when you can’t offer the same luxuries other houses have, which is why 2014-2017 their rep fell. I think the diversity in personality doesn’t help either. Good sisterhood, but very clear cut divide into two different kind of girls. During recruitment, all these people are trying to recruit different types of pnms and it just doesn’t work. They seemed to go for prettier out of state girls this past year, but next year they could go for southern church going in state girls. Very back and forth.
#8by: Ranks do not matter
FYI- Ranks are just random people's thoughts based on either IG, tradition, actives/pmns self-ranking, moms and alumni, .... all sororities are great and have a lot to offer. It goes down to what is important to you (looks, partying, involvement, sisterhood, social media, academics...).

@bye
I am not 50. I am not an AOII. But if you are referencing the fact that I called people out on something in an articulate manner and not in language full of slang and grammatical errors AND that I am able to appreciate all NPC groups for the wonderful women with in each group... if this is something you associate with 50 year olds - I'll take it!

They’re kinda just the left over girls from recruitment no one goes into recruitment wanting to be on they just end up there
they don’t really party or have much of a reputation on campus that would appeal to pnms as much as people want to claim grades and being nice girls matters at the end of the day pnms want some sort of status going into college and they just won’t get that with aopi

Agreed, I also think they need to pull more trendy girls. It's fine if they don't want to be a party house but I think it would also help for them to become known as being fun too as opposed to just the genuine/smart girls
