girls getting easy bid elsewhere on purpose

I have heard of a few girls who got bids to KD and AXO at smaller schools and plan to transfer here. what do girls think of this? do they know they did this on purpose for an easy recruitment with plans to transfer after securing a bid?
my older sister said her roommate 2nd semester freshman year was a transfer from texas tech who only went there to get a KD bid.

There is no guarantee that the chapter here would allow them to affiliate. It's at the chapter's discretion, and if they are accepted it's a bit harder to assimilate because they haven't gone through as a new member and bonded with their own class of new members.

A few years ago there was a thread where a Theta from Bama announced that she was going to transfer and affiliate at UT Austin. Hilarity ensued.

At least it worked out for in that she got a better education. UF is one of the top public universities in the country.

Also transferring sophomore year without being affiliated must be really difficult, especially since its obviously what she wanted!! Hopefully it worked out for her and she made some good friends.

Texas tech adpi is notoriously easy to get bid. They basically beg you. I know a lot of Dallas girls who went adpi at tech and went to UT a year later. Also heard the same for girls wanting to be adpi at UF

A Theta alum from TCU told a story at GC about someone who got cut from her chapter twice, transferred to a school where Theta was an easy bid, transferred back to TCU, got turned down when she tried to affiliate, and then wore her letters nearly every day around campus even though none of the Thetas would have anything to do with her.

Some sororities have it in their national bylaws that they have to accept transfer members. AOPi is one, so if a girl transferred and is a member in good standing with AOPi she has to be let into the chapter at her new school.

Top chapters have been on to this for years, especially if it's someone who rushed and got cut from the top chapter, transferred and got in at the school with an easy rush, then transferred back and tried to affiliate.
