Can you get a bid as a soph or jun
by: TransferI am thinking of transferring next sem as a second semester sophomore or a junior. I really want to go Greek but it doesn’t seem as if many people get in older. What do you need to get in or is there no chance and I should focus elsewhere..

Houses bid plenty of sophomores every year. When I was there there was a quota for upperclassmen/transfers so it used to be almost easier for them to get a bid. We had to take like 8 upperclassmen/transfers or something. I do think they changed that rule though. Someone lmk if I’m wrong

There is a separate quota for upperclassmen, but it was suspended just for one year to help SK when they were establishing. But what also needs clarification is the "had to take" part. Quota is a maximum limit, not a required number to take. No chapter has to take anyone they don't want and they won't bid to quota on upperclassmen just to take quota, they are far more selective on upperclassmen and might not take up to quota for them.
