grad school inquiry-- what is it like?

Is going to Alabama for grad school worth it? I am just looking for a change. I always wanted to go to Alabama. Can you make friends/ get the experience at alabama as a grad student? I am 30 years old and never married/no kids. I just need a new path. debating online or living in tuscaloosa. I just want to know what the older student community is like
