acceptance of out of state students

My family just moved to Alabama from California. I am a senior in HS. I am just wondering if people automatically dislike people from CA. I am right leaning in politics and would say I fit in that box. I have always loved sports and want to join greek life so overall applying to bama is appealing.
Just wanted to know if Bama would be a good fit for a ex-Californian who will have only lived in Bama for a year. I have heard horror stories you guys just hate us lol

I transferred from California and I met some really great people. you will meet some that are close minded. I think you could go anywhere and people have preconceived ideas about a state or someone. I think if you are social and put yourself out there you will not leave Bama without some lifelong friends regardless of where you grew up. My best friends are from Alabama! they loved to visit me in California during the summer and breaks
