Bump Group Question
by: hiHi, I don’t go to UA but I’m rushing at my own school starting this week! I was wondering if bump groups only rush one PNM per party? Or do they talk to multiple? Just curious to know if I should worry about being forgotten about when PNMs leave and members do their ranking/scoring lol. (Also, congrats on all your new members!!)

they talk to multiple. when someone bumps into you, you then leave and bump into someone in your group to talk to their pnm, who then bumps into someone else in the group and so on. then you have floaters who aren't in bump groups who "float" around and talk to multiple girls

One of the biggest things is to find out how your school handles recruitment. UA is one of the most brutal sorority recruiting setups in the country.
First off, in the south Greeks are much more of a part of the school than northern schools. Then the way it is set-up at UA makes it insane.
PNM's have to submit a resume, letters of recommendation and a video intro. 19 of the 24 UA Sororities participated in recruitment and there were over 2500 PNM's that began the process (final quota I read was 127 so 19x127=2413 possible bids.).
In the beginning PNM's were weeded out and could receive a maximum of 12 Sorority "call backs" for the first round. Over a 3 day period sororities host PNM's for "parties". PNM's rank their "top 5 in order and sororities trim their list as well. Going into the next round a PNM will have no more than 5 on their card (and there is a chance that none of them were in their top 5). For the last round the PNM's have to select their top 2. Then on the last day, the PNM's all are inside Bryant Denny Stadium and given their bid card which are all opened at the same time. Then the now PM's line up with their new sisters and run out of the stadium and to their houses.
You have read of someone suiciding, that is when a PNM has 2 choices on their card for final choice and one they want - one they don't so they only choose 1 of the 2 and if that 1 does not select them, they got a call Sunday Morning telling them not to go to the stadium. There were also PNM's that were not happy with what houses chose them in earlier rounds that dropped out of the process because they were not happy.
Not every sorority gave out the 127 bids (or they had offered bids and the girl didn't show up at the house). In that case, they can do COB to add more girls to their Pledge Class.
