How hard actually is it to be a chapter president here? How much work and campaigning is involved?

I really think it varies on your house/chapter - but in general you need to show leadership from the very beginning within your PC, GOOD grades, respectable/friendly in your PC, show that you really are there for the sisterhood, be involved on campus and in general have your chapter in your best interest!

In my OR house exec “slates” girls (basically hand picks the next exec from their friends) and the girls who are slated get like 95% of the votes and are automatic shoe ins. It’s no campaigning the work comes after when you’re actually pres

Yeah if you didn’t go to MB or a southern private school and you wanna be on exec it’s not happening. Maybe they’d let you take diversity chair but that’s about it lmaooo

Not too much campaigning depending on the chapter. Insane amount of work/pressure after I would never want that.

in some chapters (like mine) to even qualify to run for president you have to have served on exec as another position. as u can imagine, that makes the pool of girls who can run for president very, very limited. then we also do slating and its typically expected of u to vote for the slated exec member bc they’re the ones exec thinks are the most suited for the positions. (as u can imagine, this leads to exec handpicking their littles, friends and rush crushes to be the next exec)
but honestly bc of these rules… sometimes we don’t even like or want to vote for our chapter president. our previous president before the current one was the only one who ran and we were all forced to vote for her. multiple girls across pledge classes even begged another exec member to run so we wouldn’t have this girl as president lol. so no, you don’t have to really be well liked by ur whole sorority or ~campaign~

I feel like it really depends on the chapter though, I’ve experienced/heard different things across the board

You have to have the right pedigree at certain houses. I know my chapter's alumni made sure we basically had southern private school kids in exec. I was from chicago and they didn't want an OOR person in exec.
