Token POC Member

I heard there is such thing as a "token POC" so that houses look like they are diverse. Is this true? Being POC myself please tell me which houses do this so that I know to avoid them in my decision.

If you are really rushing the most diverse chapters are probably AOII, DG, ADII, DZ and then like old row maybe Alpha Chi or Kappa. You’ll be fine anywhere honestly but don’t expect a lot of representation in other houses

If the only person of color is the DEI officer, they are probably a token. If there is an exec member in that house that is a minority, that’s a really good sign the chapter embraces diversity and doesn’t tokenize their members bc getting on exec in most houses is a big privilege and you have to be well liked by a lot of members.

yeah but like maybe the minority girl just doesn’t want to be on executive council

I didn’t have any interest in executive counsel because I have too much to do. Not everyone gets their leadership from their sorority.
