how many released?
by: PnmI keep hearing rumors on how many girls have already been released. does anyone know how many were released first round and how many total will be released to get the numbers down to where they need to be? Have any girls dropped out? I haven't heard of anyone dropping out, but I'm guessing some have

Anything you hear about releases is hearsay and frankly total bs. That is not information that is released to the sororities and the very few on panhellenic who know are not going to tell anyone. Also releasing pnm's from recruitment "to get the numbers down to where they need to be" is not a thing. Different chapters release different numbers depending on percentage factors they are given, but there is no endgame number to work to.

You would get a call. You won't show up and find out that you don't have any houses.

HUGE cuts are made after Sisterhood. If you make it to pref you are on their bid list somewhere. They will not keep someone who could potentially be on the bid list.

not necessarily! you can still get dropped at any point before pref, and if you make it to pref - there’s no guarantee of a bid.

The stronger recruiting houses must cut more and therefore have fewer parties because they can count on a higher percentage of pnm's coming back.

The amount of parties is probably the same but because they have a higher return rate the parties are going to be smaller because they have to cut more girls. So houses with high return rates won’t need to use as many sisters to recruit pnms because there aren’t as many pnms whereas houses with lower return rates will have to invite back more girls and use more sisters to recruit

They try not to have parties looking smaller or larger than others because it would stand out. Better to have roughly the same amount at each party and so some houses need more parties on the schedule.

All the houses have to have time to submit their lists for the next round and then the schedules are created. Only then are the Rho Chi's notified if they have to make calls.

It has to be tonight, because girls get their schedule tomorrow at 9am. Or maybe really early in the a.m? I bet tut is one big tower of nerves tonight.

I feel like tomorrow will be when girls drop out, not getting their preferred house for sisterhood and making rash decisions based on what they think they know. Stay with it all through rush then if you hate it drop out. I know you can look at either way, drop now and give someone else your spot who really wants it, or try and see if you like the house.

Girls who are dropped from every single house first round either have a grade problem or are a PR risk. There may be a very small number who are just unlucky, but 99% of the time it’s girls who frankly should have known they most likely wouldn’t be getting a bid anywhere

The pledge class sizes/quota are decided on pref depending on how many pnms attend
