by: Rankings 2021!When you are looking at academic rankings consistently for the last 5 years, you are looking at Alpha Gam, Alpha Chi, Chi O, DG, and AOII. They also have beautiful, sweet girls as well.

I don’t really get the point of going into houses bc they have good academic reputations. What do you get out of that? Saying you’re in a smart house? As long as the girls are fun and connected and we all have a good time together. That’s what you’re going to remember the most. Not how high your sisters gpa is.

Okay. Only a house with a low academic rating would make that comment. Trust me, the houses care. That is why they start their first cuts at 3.85.

Preach! The same "old school" comments are from sororities that consistently rank in the lower academic tier and put down great houses like Alpha Chi, Alpha Gam, Chi O, DG, AOII, ADII, and others. Even Zeta has moved up academically, and they are catching heat because they aren't just going for looks. Then you look at houses that have aggressively moved up the academic ranks like DG, AOII, and ADII and built beautiful houses in the last 5 years and you know why they are moving to the top and have high membership numbers and retention of members. When you see "old" rankings with some of these groups listed low, you know you have a mom or grandmother on here who hasn't been on campus in decades.

I'm pretty sure all sororities have a better average gpa than the general student population. College is about getting the grades and earning degrees but sorority life is about sisterhood and fun, also. I would be concerned if a sorority had a really low average gpa, but I don't really need a sorority with a 3.8 average. I want to have fun, too.

The houses with high GPA are still having so much fun! They have strong sisterhoods and tbh normally have more date parties and events for sisterhood then other houses. Alpha Chi, Alpha Gam, XO, DDD, DG,ADPI still have fun but they also are trying to make sure they will be happy after graduation doing something they like. So many PNMS I’ve talked to told me they want to do a really hard major like pre law or nursing. I just don’t know how many nursing students Alpha phi has! Of course they probably have a couple but not like the higher gpa houses…

Maybe your sorority is only about having fun and sisterhood but I’m in a very well rounded top tier sorority and we care about so much more than that. Of course it’s all about sisterhood and fun but we also care about grades, involvement, personal growth, happiness etc. I would rather be in a sorority that is more well rounded than only want to party. I feel like you can’t have a deep sisterhood id your bond is only based on how many lines you did at rounders and who went home with who and only having a good time…

Wow. Let's see, AOII has girls in SGA, ambassadors, athletes, cheerleaders, band, and honor societies representing diverse majors. I am pretty sure the same is true for DG. This is the craziest comment by the OP above.

That is completely untrue! At most universities the All Sorority GPA is higher than the All women's GPA.

This is a joke right? You want well rounded and smart sisters because you want people who are going to help you fulfill your dreams and become the best version possible of yourself. What a lot of girls are going to remember is having to change their majors or transfer because they didn’t get into the programs they wanted because all there sisters cared about was doing lines and partying. Its called balance and associating yourself with success
