KD hometown throwdown

i’ve heard that KD only has girls from mountain brook or mobile but i did not fully understand this until i saw their hometown throwdown pics today. zeta’s the other day was cute because there were so many girls from so many different states like fl, pa, ga, tn, etc, but literally KD consists of the same 4 towns. as a pnm from oor it makes me not want to go KD so maybe they should stay away from this theme in the future because it truly did scare me off.

i know this can be scary but don't completely close your mind to them! as you go through recruitment, look for what houses have the same values as you, not where their members come from!

I saw the same KD Instagram and saw... Virginia, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, and New York.... not just MB. Nice try though!

And gotta love MB being featured separate than Birmingham girls. That pretty much sums up KD.

It’s not just Vestavia. It’s all the Birmingham suburbs, they don’t want Hoover Homewood Trussville Vestavia or anyone that’s not MB.

And it’s not just KD. Historically, they were a group of old row houses, XO KKG KD and DDD who refused to pledge the Bham suburbs, only took MB.

AXO PM AGD pledged a lot of Hoover and Vestavia historically so that’s a reason for all the shade thrown at those houses.

And the new row houses that traditionally pledged a lot of Hoover and Vestavia are Zeta PBP and ADPhi. Gotta wonder who keeps bashing them, is it an MB problem?

Only KD has a separate Mtn Brook Alumnae Association. Every other group is city-wide.

Even Kappa is city-wide, they are almost as rude as KD but KD takes the cake in rudeness.

lol as you can tell, no KD is not 100% mtn brook/mobile/gump girls but they will make up a PROMINENT majority of your pledge class and chapter. (from the girls who made it to work week) they show like 2 girls from NY, 6 girls from TX, 3 girls from NJ, 5-6 girls from TN, 6 girls from AR, 8 girls from RVA, some Charlotte girls, 3 girls from Maryland etc. so if you’re cool with being 1 of a few handful of girls from ur state/city with the majority being girls who have known each other their whole lives and live breathe the state of Alabama, then it’s not so bad. i personally love all the OOS kd’s i’ve met, especially the northern and western ones!!

KD has deep roots in the state. They also worry about retention and if you look statistically, in state has a higher retention than out of state. I think you would find the same stats in other SEC schools... probably any other state school for that matter. And KD likes themselves.... let it go!

The Alabama KDs just want to pretend they are a little bit better than everyone else, that’s why there are the two alum groups in B’ham.

But still doesn’t splain why Mtn Brook girls are running over to Vestavia Country Club to get themselves presented at Poinsettia. Back in 1968, the Mrs. Dr. Gus Prosch established Poinsettia Ball for Vestavia girls, she lived in Vestavia. High and mighty brookies then think they are too good for anyone from Vestavia after worming their way into a presentation.

And back around 1968, Mtn Brook elected to have their city boundaries “frozen” because they would not integrate their school system.

All the other suburbs integrated and were allowed to expand their cities. That’s why MB is now landlocked by Homewood, Leeds, and Vestavia. And of course, by Birmingham itself on the north and east side.

So tell me, who is really “better”?

KD is just going to high school again for MB girls. If that’s your crowd, you are fine. If you are ready for a change, don’t go KD and spend 4 more years with people you really didn’t like in high school. And the “new” girls you meet are just like them, just from a different school. Then they all get together and live at kd corner in a giant high schoolish clique and do not mix with the rest of kd. Zzzz

A few smart girls from MB branch out each year and join other sororities so there’s hope. \n\n\n\n\n
