Grades is #1 reason. Judging interest - do YOU follow THEM on social media? If not, they might drop you. Did you get a rec letter? If not, try to. Do you have a bad rep or social media presence? Delete those underage drinking pictures. Don’t go out to bars at Bama Bound. Don’t try to steal actives boyfriends. Basic stuff.

You have to understand that you don’t pick your sorority, your sorority picks you. So if the house you love gives you a bid, that’s amazing good for you! But a lot of the time girls don’t get their first choice, so you definitely don’t want to tick off all the other houses by acting stuck up/better than them if you want to get a bid from A house. You have to ask yourself if you’d rather be in a house other than your top choice, or no house at all. If the answer is you want A house then you’ll have to be nice

Just wanting a certain sorority is just gonna make your rush week easier for other sororities, that’s a one way ticket to getting completely dropped from all sororities. Meaning it shows in the way you talk to other sororities that you don’t want them and only want a certain house. You have to realize you don’t pick the sorority you get to be in, they pick you. You may think they’re your vibe but alpha phi and zeta might think YOUR not their vibe. You should be open to all sororities, I can best bet you that in all chapters there will be girls that’s like alpha phi and zeta.

My Old Row house makes big cuts on round 1. It’s nothing personal - it’s all based on grades and recs. If you have under a 3.2, you’re automatically cut and there’s nothing we can do about it. Same with recs. If you don’t have a rec for my house, you’re automatically cut after round 1. Again, it’s not personal, but if you didn’t take the time to find an alumna from any chapter of my sorority, that’s your way of saying you’re not interested in us. Round 2 is where we cut for questionable reps and social media where girls have alcohol or just look like they would be Zetas. Those are cut round 2. Round 3 cuts are girls we don’t think would fit in.
