by: CarefulPosting pictures of you hanging out with actives who aren’t family isn’t a flex, it doesn’t look cool, it actually violated no-contact and could be a standards issue for the active. Do yourselves both a favor and stop touting from the rooftop how you’re still talking to “your queens🥺❤️“

Hanging with these actives in no way guarantees you a bid at their house either. It also makes other houses more likely to cut you if they think you are narrow-minded going into recruitment. If you post pics and/or shoot your mouth off about where you think you are going come bid day, then be prepared for some nasty shocks, very limited options, and a bunch of tears.

Idk what the trolls do but yes reviewing social media is a part of recruitment. Every sorority has a team that does this. They are looking for red flags, and it’s another way to see someone’s background. PNMs need to be careful about what they put out there.

All the “things you can’t post” become more or less an everyday occurrence once you’re in the house!
I suppose there are houses that monitor and judge you on your social media. But do you want to not post what you like - and then either be with girls you can’t relative to or join a house that’s two-faced and fake?
Be yourself and pick a house with girls you can relate to - whether this is based on social media, friends or recruitment.

If you go back to the OP she’s not talking about avoiding showing your personality in your posts or trying to appear as someone you’re not. She’s specifically talking about when you see a PNM posting with actives during the no contact period and acting like she’s already in the house.

It’s 2021 and Bama Greek life isn’t all about a few suburbs of Mobile and Birmingham anymore.
Most find contact before rush to be a reasonable and logical thing. Joining a house is a huge investment (of time and money) - and why make it over a few short conversations and meetings.
The entire contact thing needs re evaluated for modern times. And many are wise to just ignore it! \n\n\n\n\n
