an honest description!

as an active who will be going into senior year, I am going to describe/group each sorority with as little negative's as possible
first of all- each and every sorority at Bama is better than any single sorority at another SEC school. there are no bad sororities.
these are not ranked, just grouped!
start off with some easy/no brainers
KKG and KD: both give off the same vibe during rush, except after rush you can see some od the differences. they hang out with different people, but both are great houses with a mix/match of party girls and academic girls.
Aphi, Gphi: again, they give off similar vibes during rush, and after rush they hang out with similar people. a lot of the girls are friends with girls in the other, and from my own experience they went after a lot of the same girls during rush. they are both very social houses. outgoing girls, big social media presence
DG and DZ: they rush the same people usually, and again hang out with similar people. they are on the more social side, but I would say they are a little more involved-base than some of the other similar sororities on campus.
here come some hot takes from my own POV
AGD and XO: a lot of people will say axo and agd are most similar, but I think xo and agd are a better group. both involved in similar organizations on campus, hang with same frats, a lot are friends, same vibes I guess from what I know. both smart
AXO/ half of PM: half of phi mu fits this vibe. well-presented, involved, pageant type girl. smart and social. hang w similar guys, go same places, honestly personalities are same.
other half of PM and ZTA: anyone on campus will agree with this, especially with last few pcs. there are some PM that could easily be mistaken for ZTA and vice versa. very pretty, very social, same vibes, dress similar, hang w same guys/people.
ones that can't really be grouped:
DDD: tridelts are great girls. the vibes of old row sorority as far as involvement and academics goes, but they are more edgy if that makes any sense. super social, involved, smart
KAT: a good mix of girls. there are a lot of involved girls. smart girls. very nice and accepting people. everyone I know in this house is happy with it, and honestly their actual house in and of itself is awesome.
SK: I can't really write on behalf of this house because I don't know any. I assume that they're definitely going to be more and more desirable as each rush happens.

wow would agree with most of these!! only one i feel eh about is ur description of kd/kappa… they hang out with the same groups of guys for (dke/sae/ka i’m looking at u) and def have more of a social party vibe than academic or involvement.
also interested on ur take on adpi, pi phi, and aopi!!!!

Aopi wasn’t listed, I’d add them in with dg they rush pretty much the same girls and are a super common combo of houses girls get for pref. Same with adpi but they’re slightly “better” than dg and aopi

To me, APhi is in their own category. They used to have wild girls who were pretty. Since their nationals clean them out, they still have a few wild but pretty party girls and a whole lot of girls they got from COB to fill up the house. G Phi doesn't have all pretty girls either, but they have far more pretty ones and a little better grades and a lot better sisterhood. Not in either house, just based on the girls I know in those houses.

I wouldn’t say XO and PM go for the same girls tbh. They might cross rush some but they’re not THAT similar. PM is a looks house and XO is way more well rounded and grades oriented than pm

Axo is like the bridge between XO and PM. Lots of girls pref XO and AXO or AXO and PM.

I feel like AGD is the pageant girl bridge between XO and AXO. AGD is the more “southern belle,” “sweet girl” house, XO is more of a VSCO girl on a mission house. Even though all 3 houses are somewhat conservative. All are great but XO and AXO seem more trendy then AGD, and AXO seems a little more “image focused” than the other two. I really think anyone would be lucky to be in any of the “holy trinity.” I’m not super religious and I’m from the North so I didn’t know anyone or really connect with any of those houses during rush, so I went another old row house, but I have friends in all 3 of those houses who are super happy. You can’t go wrong with those three or DDD, PM, or KKG.

Calm down DZ. just bc y’all care more about involvement than aphi/gphi doesn’t make y’all more similar to ADPI. ADPI cares much much more about grades. do agree they draw from the same group of pnms tho, ADPI is just much more academics focused and selective w grades
