Do people actually care about fraternity ranks?

I just find it hard to believe someone would completely ignore someone because they’re from a Jefferson frat. What seems more likely is if you say you’re from a respected frat (SAE, DKE, etc), people give you props, but I just can’t see people saying “ew he’s in ____”

It’s not worth caring about frat ranks join the house u fit in. The only thing frat ranks matter for is parties and interest from girls in “top houses” but you can make do with most frats.

my advice is just don’t join a bottom tier frat

University houses tend to have more clout than Jefferson houses, but if you’re a cool guy, you won’t have trouble with girls unless you’re in a Bus Hub or off-campus house. Even then, those “bottom-tier” houses have some events that a decent-looking guy who somehow ends up in a house like that could do well in.
