Are tall girls less desirable for sororities?

by:

I'm on the taller side (5'11). Will I have trouble getting a bid from the better sororities?

Guessing this is a troll post but in case it’s not, the answer is no, no one will care if you’re tall, especially if you’re one of those gorgeously striking tall girls who could be a model. Tall thin tan and pretty is basically desired by every sorority

No, not at all. I'm on the tall side though nowhere near 5'11 and I can honestly I've never even thought about it.

I have noticed guys tend to gravitate toward the shorter girls though. At parties anyway.

I mean yeah most guys don’t wanna be with a girl that’s taller than them

I'm a tall girl and model (I am six foot.) Most models are 5'9 to 6'
Any girls that are catty to you are jealous. There is no shortage of tall guys that appreciate us.

No issue anywhere. Tall is fine.

I am also 5'11". I had a full card each round. My house has so many tall girls. I will say...this school is full of short guys which sucks.

Sororities will love you. However, 97% of the male population will be shorter than you. Mentally prepare or just meet the BB team.

Could be an issue for some of the OR sororities. The OR fraternities don’t like having ladies taller than them. They do represent the Lollypop Guild, after all.

This is prob a troll post but I’m still gonna talk about my experience. I’m also 5’11 and not only did I get a full card back every round, I never got cut from a single house (for me this meant keeping all of OR going into sisterhood.) While this definitely had everything to do with connections and my resume as a pnm, height was an easy convo starter that let me talk about sports and high school experiences. Only awkward time was maybe when Id walk into a house for the first time be escorted inside by a girl half my height. Still, ended up going to my favorite house OR and have loved it.

When it comes to fraternity stuff, your height will definitely make you stand out and it’s different than high school. I was surprised seeing how many guys are into tall girls, even tho for some of them it seems like more of a dare-thing sometimes. Obviously you’re probably not gonna get approached by a 5’8 dude (and there are A LOT of short kings at bama,) but it seems like the taller guys are looking for taller girls mostly anyway. It ends up balancing out most of the time. Every now and then I’ll get jokes, but I don’t rly ever feel judged the way I did in hs and it felt a lot easier to rly own my height once I got to college here.

Piggybacking off this thread, I’m a tall incoming PNM. What stores/boutiques have other tall girls shopped for cute mini dresses that aren’t too short?

I’m really tall and I got my dresses from Amanda Uprichard and Ramy Brook! I also chose not to wear heels bc they made me feel awkward and a nice pair of gold lace up sandals worked great for me! Just be sure you wear spandex under your dress/skirt, keep the rest of your dress as modest as possible, and as long as it’s reasonable the length shouldn’t be an issue

Your options will increase if you consider cute dresses and skirts that may be a bit long and have them shortened by a good alterations person.
