PNMs need to follow EVERY house on social media

Think of it like this. There are 17 houses and about 3000 girls rushing. Only 5-6% of PNMs end up in a single house, making it competitive to get into ANY house. Don’t limit your options, and follow every house because you never know where you will end up. Part of being in a sorority is about Philanthropy. You may have a connection to a specific house’s philanthropy but you won’t know until you hear actives talk about how passionate they are in their philanthropy. Typically, you won’t see this on their social media and want to maximize the chance of getting a full card back so you could actually find out about their devotion to their philanthropy. Philanthropy is important to creating a sisterhood.

Joining a sorority is more importantly about making connections with other girls in the house. It’s all about sisterhood and you just won’t know which girls you get along with based off their instagram because every house has a similar instagram. Not following every house implies to the recruitment board that you aren’t interested in finding those you will connect with if you aren’t giving every girl in every house an equal opportunity. It implies that you have a superficial idea of which people you align with, and immediately don’t fulfill the sisterhood requirement of being in a house. You will get dropped if you clearly don’t display those values of sisterhood. It takes no effort to follow every house on Instagram, and you could unfollow them on Bid Day. Because in all honesty, a small percent of PNMs will end up in each house. Even if you have your top three that’s only a 15% chance of getting a house, because the other houses will see you don’t value sisterhood and drop you.

Remember, if you stay close minded you are limiting your opportunities because there will always be a better PNM out there. A house doesn’t want just you and a good PC. They want what you bring to their house to keep it a strong house and have a strong rush every year. If you don’t embody the house’s values, you will not carry on its legacy and you will get dropped.
