2/3 rule and “health” Hours

by: RTR

Saw some post on here about hazing and someone mentioned some houses have 2/3 rules and “health” hours which really mean workout/exercise hours??? Which houses do this?? How do they get away with forcing members to look a certain way and workout ?

For those that don’t know, 2/3 means you must have 2 out of these three when you’re in public:
1. Perfect makeup
2. Perfect hair
3. Perfect outfit

Houses that do this are Phi Mu and Zeta.

Pledge accordingly if you aren’t this shallow.

This comment was made by someone who is clueless or someone stirring it up. No one actually requires this. Thanks for a good laugh though.

i don't think any houses actually enforce this btw but it is a good rule of thumb in general. nothing wrong with wanting to have girls look presentable

Theta has this rule, although you’d never guess it by looking at them. They probably don’t enforce it, but one of my friends pledged them last year and complained about it

My freshman roommate was in a house that was trying to change their image. They did require workout hours and they could be exchanged for study hours. She actually got in trouble for not doing all of her required hours (she was definitely a bit and being fined by her house didn’t help in her situation. Oh, but she was still allowed to go to swaps and get messy. That was a-ok). So, yeah. In her case, it was a bit like hazing.

In a world that’s generally accepted “ low maintenance” as a standard for showing up in public - I’m glad to hear some still have standards.

Personally, have had enough pjs in public and other sloppy trends.

Than you for showing up looking good y’all! Whether there is a 2/3 rule or not!

Thanks you. We are way past defending going out in public with little effort and now at a point where sloppiness is totally expected and normalized.

Guys too - thanks for keeping up the blue blazers on game day tradition.

I see a couple on a date where she’s in a dress and he’s in a tee and a baseball hat and I want to slap him!

And too many women in overwashed stretched tees and sweat pants out and about.

Have some respect - for yourselves and others - and put yourself together people!

So wearing a T-shirt or comfy clothes and not having a full face of makeup to go to class or to get groceries means you have no respect for yourself?? What the hell?? To me that means you feel comfortable enough in your own skin that you don’t feel the need to try to impress anyone everywhere you go. There’s a time and a place to get done up and want to look nice, but expecting girls to do that every single day just says “your natural self isn’t good enough”

I completely agree that people need to learn how to present themselves. No job is going to put up with sloppy appearances after graduation, so it’s important to practice these habits in college, too.

Actually some of them definitely do. Not all, and maybe only during new member period, but some do
