rec letters

can someone please explain to me how rec letters work? like how do I ask someone for one? do I message them? if so, what do I say? & what do I do after I get one, do I submit them or do they submit the letters for me? im so sorry if this is a stupid question but greek life isn't popular where im from so I dont have anyone to ask :(

Find someone who is an alum from a house Alabama has. Politely ask them if they would write a rec for you if you send them your resume and a photo.

Afterwards follow up with a handwritten thank you note.

Usually you can do to nationals website and they have a section dedicated to finding alumni’s or help you get a rec letter, you can also go on Facebook there’s a bunch of alumni groups, there’s also alumni websites for Texas alumnis only so you can also prob go on there and ask a few. (Not rlly related to ur question but just in case you can’t find any rec letters)

My friend got like 2 or 3 solely from making a post on FB saying something like "hi everyone I'm planning to rush this fall when I go to college, if anyone knows any alumni of th following sororities can you please message me" and then listed all the chapters at bama
