Vegan Food Options in House?
by: Vegan PNMAs a PNM from California I have a question about food options in houses. Do they have vegan or vegetarian options beyond salad bars?

At my house there is a salad bar for every meal but you probably won’t have much to eat besides that. I was a vegan before I came to school and I ended up just becoming a vegetarian instead because my house (and I’m assuming all of them) doesn’t serve any meals without meat, butter, or cheese in them.

Yeah that’s a less than ideal situation, I know a girl who has health problems and can’t eat like anything the sorority serves and she was trying to get off the meal plan but it was a big fight w the house board. Idk if it ever happened. Sucks to pay for food you can’t eat

Unfortunately, the options available in the sorority houses and the dining halls are very limited. There is an Instagram account @uavegans for the vegan community here but it's still very small.
In hindsight I should've taken my diet into account more seriously when picking a college, you'd honestly be better off at a UC school or a college in a big city.

Thank you. No it’s not any of those reasons. It’s just my cardiologist says it’s necessary for me to remain vegan while at college. Thank you for your detailed answers.
