missing -- panhellenic love...
by: truthI thought I'd check it out since all the controversy earlier this year and see how things were going. I expected lots of panhellenic love and instead am seeing all this self promoting rating crap. What's really ridiculous is that the Alabama chapter of my sorority is near the bottom, and I know they're a really good chapter. It seems like the folks here would celebrate their greatness of all their houses instead of running down obviously great chapters. It must be a kind of redneck mentality, but it makes Alabama look even worse that they haven't learned from their problems.

I agree with this comment. We really do have a great greek system but when we downgrade all the houses by ranking them (which no one agrees on anyway), it looks to outsiders as if our houses aren't all good. We probably have the most exclusive, amazing greek community ever. If we would talk it up (instead of down) we could be the envy of the whole country. Right now we're kind of a laughing stock.

Pretty true. The comments on here are usually wrong. But the thing about it is that this is the face of Bama Greek that other people see. I agree that the face we're showing should be bragging on our houses instead of pointing out all their flaws and shortcomings. We have amazing sororities and fraternities and we should let people know that.

I think you missed the point. The comments are about the way we look to the rest of the country. I think this is an astute observation. Whether or not any of this is true, it's all about how we look. When we run down our houses it makes them look less amazing than they are. No one is going to know that we have the greatest greek community in the country if we are constantly telling everyone that certain houses are undesirable.
