Without sorority attached because I don’t want bias: bear, owl, key, arrow, lion, ladybug, dolphin, anchor, panda, lyre, diamond, squirrel, ivy, kite, crown, turtle, crescent moon, dove

There's actually a difference between a symbol and a mascot. I feel like you have a mix of symbols and mascots on this list.

Like KKG's symbol is the key and their mascot is the owl

AOPi's symbol is a red rose and their mascot is a panda

ADPi's symbol is the diamond and their mascot is a lion

Phi Mu's symbol is the quatrefoil and their mascot is a lion

ZTA's symbol is the crown and their mascot is a strawberry/bunny

Some sororities don't really have symbols that I know of, but they do have mascots. Some don't have mascots but they do have symbols.

And I assume you have an owl down for Chi O... Chi O's symbol is a skull and crossbones and their mascot is an owl

So like this is not a good comparison IMO because you are conflating mascots with symbols

Definitely key/moon/arrow are the best. Anchor too but unfortunately those are kind of overdone. Something you could wear on a necklace post grad and it wouldn’t be obvious but still relatively easy to find.

Um so basically you’re saying symbols are better than mascots?

The first chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi’s history began in 1897 at Barnard College in New York City. Barnard was the first college in New York, and one of the first in the nation, where women could receive the same rigorous and challenging education that was available to men. Affiliated with Columbia University since 1900, Barnard is one of the oldest women’s colleges in the world.

Barnard’s class of 1898 included four particularly amazing women who were destined to leave a great legacy on both their college and on a new fraternity. Stella George Stern Perry, Jessie Wallace Hughan, Helen St. Clair Mullan and Elizabeth Heywood Wyman were four firm friends determined that their friendship should last a lifetime. In their junior year, on December 23, 1896, the four climbed the stairs in a small gallery of the old Columbia College Library which led to an old and seldom used room. Seated on broad window seats and with sunlight streaming gently through the windows and snow lightly drifting outside, the four pledged each other. Several days later, on January 2, 1897, Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII) was formally organized at the home of Helen St. Clair. Soon afterward, the four pledged AOII’s first initiate to AOII’s Alpha Chapter, Ann Richardson Hall.

My mom said they used to use the grasshopper instead of the bear which sounds better to me but, proud to be a KD!

ΚΔ used to have a katydid - which is both green and a play on words of the letters - as their mascot.

For a brief time in the 1970s and 1980s KD had a FROG as a mascot. Really. They used them on Bid Day tshirts, too. During rush I thought of it as it was taught to me in church: Fully Rely On God [in a traditionally Christian sorority.]

The anchor is a cool symbol but I think DG goes overboard with the whole nautical theme.
