by: Hey!So I will rush next year and honestly I like all the sororities at Bama but I have special interest in XO. I've heard they take a lot of legacies, and I am not a legacy and don't have recs yet, but I have 2 friends in that sorority. What do Chi-Os look for during rush? Is it true what they say about legacies? I have decent grades btw

they are a very southern house. they take girls who not only had good grades in high school but were involved. having a hard major is NOT a bonus because they want to maintain highest GPA. also knowing someone in the house can help tremendously. get them to introduce you to other girls and really get to know them. the more people you know the more that can be said about you when your name comes up during rush which is always a plus. unless it's negative. and recs are a must have.

I'm not a Chi O, but for most of rush they were my top choice. They are a bunch of very outgoing and super fun girls. They're top tier and look for someone who is well-rounded and a good representative of their chapter. Good grades, good looks, and great social skills. Make sure you act like you want them and make them love you. It's just girl flirting.

I used to think I knew the kind of girl they took - great grades, great credentials, not necessarily the prettiest but definitely nice looking. Now I'm not so sure. They pledged a couple who had mediocre grades, poor reputations, OK looks.
I just don't know anymore.
Best to keep ALL your options open. Besides, you really don't do that much choosing. The sororities do most of it.

Definitely outgoing! I think that is what hurt me the most during rush. It is something a lot of people don't think about but if you are a person who can easily hold an interesting conversation with someone you don't know and make them enjoy the conversation then you will have a great rush. Personality is HUGE! I am very shy and it definitely showed during rush.
