jump in loser, we’re transferring

by: :)

So who’s with me? I’m already transferring to Ole Miss so I can go rerush there and get the house I wanted. Don’t worry, I’ll be back though.

If you think this is a joke, it’s not. A significant number of girls do this every year. Girls also rush here to transfer later to Georgia. People are wild

recruitment registration already closed. rec letters were due a month or two ago, they have had their lists in place for a while now. plus they only have ten sororities to get into, the top five being the most sought after. it may be the toughest recruitment in the SEC because of the small number of sororities.

The toughest recruitment in the SEC.... honey that’s Bama

I’d say Ole Miss is tougher on the girls, since most don’t want anything “below” Phi Mu and Kappa...

Yeah I think alabama’s recruitment is tougher because of the heat and sheer number of houses you have to visit (not this year but other years) and it’s just a really emotionally draining and exhausting experience rushing. But Alabama has like 10 or so really solid houses that many girls would be happy with. Girls go into OM recruitment warning like 2 houses and it’s also tougher for them in a different because there’s so few spots in those coveted houses

Ole Miss is WAY more competitive than Bama. Bama is big but that’s about it. Most girls are going to get a bid because they have to fund those houses some way, and they way they do it is thru huge pledge classes. Schools like Ole Miss, Texas, UGA etc can be more selective....its the same with Bama’s admissions policies which the standards are pretty low compared to many other SEC/state institutions. Why do you think you have so many from out of state coming to Bama, especially from Georgia and Texas? Cause they can’t get admitted to those schools and/or have a better chance as a transfer.

YES!

At bama most girls will be happy with OR, Zeta and Pi Phi.

At ole miss most girls only want Chi O, Tri Delt and KD. Some might want DG and Kappa... But the furthest they’ll go is Phi Mu. Same with Texas and PKT/Big Six.

Bama has more choices than Ole Miss. I do think these two schools have the most selective sororities in the nation.

Alabama has the second most selective admission in the SEC. Second only to Vandy, which is very low. It's not saying much, but no other school in the SEC beside Vandy is less accepting. Alabama has a lower acceptance rate than even A&M.

Compared to GT or UT? Sure they are more exclusive, but not in the SEC.

BTW...Not saying that's a huge bragging point one way or another, but let's face it, like 42% of people who apply to Alabama get rejected.

Even Auburn is harder to get into than Bama. At Bama, you can have a 3.0 and a 30 ACT and get a full ride, that might get your books paid at Auburn and other SEC schools. To say Bama is selective is pretty ridiculous as everyone knows how easy it is to get into. Even the University of Texas doesn’t have a 42% rejection rate and they are one of if not THE most selective state schools in the US, and many who get rejected end up at Bama.

Bro what you can’t get a full ride with that.... you need a 3.5 and a 33 on the act. That’s nothing crazy good but that’s still impressive and way harder to get than what you said

Auburn’s acceptance rate was 84% this year. Alabama’s was 59%. 41% of applications were rejected. Sorry, I was off by 1%. Neither are great compared to Vandy’s less than 10% but you are 100% wrong about Alabama being easier than other schools in the SEC.

Btw...UT was 39%.

Also...a 32-36 on ACT and a 3.5 gpa gets you $28k if you’re oos. That’s not a full ride. You want a full ride? Be a NMS. Source...I am a NMS.

You want a full ride at Alabama and are not a NMS? 4.0 and 36 on your ACT.

At least look up the facts on the schools you troll my dude.

Very few people do this because it's next to impossible. Nice try though.

I wouldn’t say very few there are probably like 5 or 6 kappas in each pledge class who end up transferring to uga

UGA as a school is harder to get into than Bama. Sometimes Atlanta girls go here for a year or two then transfer to Athens later. Kappa is top tier both places, so they pledge here freshman year and then can affiliate with their friends at UGA when they transfer.

I am older so I’m not sure about the last 1 or 2 pledge classes but before that yes there were a number of kappas who transferred to Uga every single year

OM changed their recruitment to August this year. It isn't in the middle of the Fall semester like in the past.

Does this happen with UGA adpi and theta?? Just wondering

Yes I’ve seen it happen as those 2 are top at UGA

Thanks! I know that they’re top there, but do they even let the girls affiliate? Theta is not as catty at UGA, but adpi? I can’t see that happening

Also girls can’t just transfer to another school and assume they can join what ever sorority they are a member of. You have to apply to affiliate and they get to vote on you!

By: Duh
by: true

Yes, this is true. Many girls have pledged a so-called lesser group on one campus and tried to transfer to the chapter on another one and were turned down.

Usually your allowed to affiliate. Being fully embraced and accepted is another thing.

But I think the girls who transfer to UGA could have gone kappa there too. They just didn’t get into UGA as freshmen or wanted to try out bama. Kappa is top 4 both places

by: ^^^^

Yeah most of the time they let whoever affiliate as long as they are pretty normal. Unless there’s an actual problem like your grades, bad reputation, etc. Like the person above me said though being embraced is a whole different story. Most girls already have formed their friend groups by this point and arent really looking to expand. Sure they’ll be friendly but

Speak for your group only when you say transfers are usually affiliated. The flagship universities' strongest schools rarely accept affiliates or girls would regularly pledge a weaker chapter of a group and then demand entrance to a stronger one.

by: NA

No girls wouldn’t regularly do that because that’s a weird thing to do. Go to an entire different school spend your freshman year there and rush just to transfer so you get the sorority you want?
