ranks & explanations from an upcoming senior

So before I start, I want to clarify that I am an upcoming senior here and have dropped the sorority I was in due to finances. I am in state and joined an old row house. I don’t care what anyone thinks about the sorority I was in now and I truly feel that I can honestly rank the houses based off girls I’ve met in the house (I know at least 2-10 girls in every house). Second, I want to clarify that I don’t rank houses based on the old row/new row BS. I am ranking these houses based on their overall presence on campus (social and academic) as well as their overall attraction to PNMS. Keep in mind, each PNM looks for a different vibe (grades/involvement, looks/partying, a mix of both) but each and every house wonderful members! I already know houses that are upset with their rank/another houses rank are going to put me on full blast, but I’m basing this off of what I HAVE EXPERIENCED and the houses I hear about the most among other actives not in that house/the frats.
Top: AXO, AGD, Tri Delt, Phi Mu, XO, ZTA
AXO: 2019 winners of homecoming (important to some people, not important to all) and compete for top grades every semester. Some of the members go out, some do not. I do see them out more than Alpha Gam and XO, but my guy friends call AXO “Alpha Christ” 😂 Although there isn’t much that they can physically do with their philanthropy (domestic violence), AXO is one of the most involved houses on campus.
AGD: Top grades for the fall semester this past school year. Very attractive to tuscaloosa/mountain brook/other southern state pnms (more Alabama focused than AXO). They focus heavily on grades and involvement and less on the social aspect. Not as popular with the frats as other sororities on campus, but that doesn’t necessarily matter to their actives. Alpha Gam is highly respected on campus and they do have a few dancers/pageant girls. If you don’t like going out that much and you value grades/involvement, I would personally advise you to have Alpha Gam high on your list.
Tri Delt: Tri Delt has always been a historically top house here. They have an even mix of party girls and introverts. I would say Tri Delt (along with XO) has the overall mix of party girls that also focus on grades. Although Tri Delt isn’t high on the grade report, they are super involved. They do a lot with their philanthropy (St. Judes), which is arguably one of the best philanthropies here in my opinion.
Phi Mu: Again, HISTORICALLY a top house. They do attract A LOTTTT of pnms (I think their actual physical house has a lot to do with it) and they are popular around campus. They are considered one of the “looks” houses; however, based on this past PC I think they may be trying to steer away from that stereotype a little bit (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing)!! They do take a lot of pnms based on the connections they have with girls in the house, which leads them to focus heavily on Alabama pnms. They have moved down in grade reports since back when I was a freshman but their status makes up for it. I am interested to see what direction they go with this years PC.
ZTA: Definitely the #1 “new row” and “looks” house at this point. Arguably the most popular among frats because they love to party with them (yes zetas love to party) and they are majorly present on social media. They are extremely popular on campus but do not focus as much on grades/involvement as a whole. So if you’re looking for a solely grades focused house, this house may not be the

This is good info, but, I would put kappa ahead of zeta. Kappa gets some cool oos PNMs and of course they get the top mobile and Mtn brook party girls. Zeta’s retention, and fact that they do COB, doesn’t make them top. It’s obvious that they have a few problems with membership. I would also move AOPi up...they got about 3 top PNMs last year and they got just as good, if not better, a PC as ADPi...ADPi had to do COB ad snaps, so they aren’t as strong as they used to be.

Definitely. I think when it comes down to it between Zeta, Kappa, and even KD it’s all based on personal preference. Really the first two rows are all “top” and then between all of them it’s based on a pnms wants/needs in a sisterhood and personal preference

I agree with moving aopi up. Coming from someone in a very bottom house, I don’t think they belong in my row. They may not be the most popular with old row frats but new row likes them (my aopi roommate had way more swaps than I did) and their grades/sisterhood put them way above my house. I honestly think they’re on the same level as dg and adpi now

Very few pnms would rank zeta higher than kappa if she had them head to head at pref

This. Their popularity is 30% looks and 70% the alpha phi name brand. If it was any other sorority and they didn’t have the ability to go back home and brag that they were in alpha phi I doubt they’d even still be on campus.

Zeta self ranking...zeta, PM, Kappa, and KD all belong on the same tier. Honestly.

DG ranked 4th in grades for this past fall semester. Definitely above Alpha Phi and GPhi.

If you are looking at just grades then yes DG is higher than alpha phi and gamma phi but if you’re talking ab overall popularity esp w frats then they are above dg

DG is definitely more popular with frats than G Phi. G phi is trying to say they are a looks house when in reality they have 30 hot girls out of a PC of 120. DG only has about 30 hot girls too, but they have less girls who they had to take to just make quota. So, they have less pyscho and less unattractive girls than Gphi. A Phi is very popular with Pike. They seem to have pretty good social prowess as well

I definitely agree that dg is less problematic than gphi but they just kinda fade into the background & people forget ab them they’re above average in grades yes but in social life & looks & relevancy they’re average I think g phi is way more social & overall more attractive than dg and more relevant and talked ab more (could be positively or negatively) so that’s why I personally would rank g phi higher than dg but In all honesty they both have improved a lot the past couple years & they are both good houses

No offense but literally no one would rank GPhi over DG except for a GPhi.
GPhi: Lowest gpa (disregarding Alpha Phi), took a questionable rep pnm that all of the other houses dropped, and really aren’t popular with frats compared to other new row houses (zeta, aphi, pi phi)
DG: ranked 4th in the greek grade reports (very impressive for a house this new), down to earth members, and their philanthropy event anchor splash is one of the most successful philanthropy events all year.
When you look at these type of facts it is very obvious who should rank higher in any given ranking
