Instagram Following

PNMs need to stop only following 2-5 sororities on instagram and follow every house, because trust me it's noticed and it makes you look SO bad and stuck up, which is not cute for recruitment. Even if you only follow the house x active is in, most still don't think it looks good. You're supposed to go into rush w an open mind, so at least follow all 17 houses until after recruitment.

You’re good. It’s ok if you don’t follow every single sorority, that’s overdoing it anyway. Some of these actives on here just think they’re all that.

honestly, it just shows where your priorities lie, and hopefully youve selected sororities with similar priorities. does it say something about you if it appears youre not going into rush with an open mind? yes. is it a statement that you want to make? thats your call 100%, people here get so judgey, dont worry about what anyone else says, if u already know where you want to end up, i hope those houses love you! <3

Some only follow the ones that request first to follow them. There is nothing wrong with that.

PNMs (And actives for that matter) need to stop being so obsessed with their follower:following ratio. It’s so pathetic that they think following someone is the equivalent of donating an organ.

You don't know where you belong. And that's okay. If you go through recruitment and each day honestly choose the houses you felt most at home, you'll be happy. The only girls I know that have dropped out of their sororities are ones that made the choice to go for a house that was highly rated on greek rank instead of the one where they were happiest. Even if you don't like all the girls you met in a house, if you like one or two, that's enough. Just know that there are more like them, girls that recruited them. You will find your friends. I have friends in every single house and I think I could be happy in any house. If you don't think you can, that's on you - not on the houses. They literally have girls of every type and persuasion. Don't say you know you wouldn't fit in at Theta or something. I guarantee you that anyone can fit in there or any other house.

I've seen the argument so many times that "you shouldn't have to follow a house you're not interested in joining"

As an active on my houses recruitment committee, my response to that is that argument is TOTALLY irrelevant to what were talking about here.

If you only follow certain houses, you will look bad to the houses you ARE interested in. Literally don't be stupid about this, it's so easy to just follow the houses. Requires almost zero effort on your part and saves you from looking bad. Just do it

honestly the group of houses a PNM follows just kinda gives me a vibe of what they like or want in a sorority. PNMs will follow/unfollow thru out rush and after bid day. you can still definitely get a bid without following a house lol. i think a lot of girls replying to this thread are in ~lower~ houses and are butt hurt bc lots of PNMs follow only top houses or houses they know of right off the bat.
you’re also assuming most actives have the time or care to check who ur following lol
