Exactly the kind of stuck up attitude I’m talking about. Besides the point half the girls who do this are 5’s and 6’s and 7’s who THINK and ACT like they’re 9’s and 10’s. Besides the point, a sorority is an organization that is more than just looks.

Like it or not, that was a good point. Why should a pnm have to follow a sorority that they have no interest in joining? You got so mad that you said besides the point twice. Lesson to pnm’s: this is why you don’t skip class.

It’s totally up to pnms to decide who they do and don’t wanna follow, but it’s not wise at all. You can’t REALLY tell if you’d fit in with the vibe of the house until rush (and really after rush tbh) because everyone puts up a fake front on social media to make themselves look more desirable and get good pnms. Also, being stuck up and assuming you’re “too good” for certain houses severely limits your options, especially if you’re not a top pnm like you think you are, because the houses you don’t follow and show no interest in aren’t going to want to give you a bid if/when your favorite houses drop you.

....is your only argument a grammatical error I made bc I typed fast? And even if you don't have interest now, your mind could completely change during rush. The only reason you would have now to not wanna be in x sorority is the stuff people say on greekrank, which is foolish. So yet again, allow me to express that you SHOULD go in with an open mind, and if after open house you're not interested in a sorority (you know - after you actually meet them and talk to them?) then drop them and unfollow them then.

It’s really none of your business how many different sororities we’re following on Instagram. You’re overdoing it if you’re actually going through each pnm’s profile and checking who they are/aren’t following. Kinda creepy imo. Rush isn’t supposed to be like an episode of Mean Girls.

It actually is our business because it’s a good way to gauge whether you’re interested in our chapter or whether you would accept a bid from us. It’s okay to not be interested, but it does make you look stand-offish and snobby to all the chapters you don’t follow. It’s just generally not a good look. So if you want to maximize your options it’s best to follow everyone and not give them a reason to think you’re not interested. If you want to suicide rush that’s on you

So you wouldn’t give someone a bid just because they don’t follow your chapter on insta? Get a grip girl, sounds like you have an over-inflated ego. And how would you know for sure that they aren’t interested just because they don’t follow your chapter? Probably shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions so fast.

So not following every sorority on insta is all it takes to be considered “stuck up” and “too good?” You should take a look at yourself if you’re wishing someone bad luck. You’re definitely not “kind” and “non-judgmental“ like you claim to be. It’s ok if someone drops and doesn’t join, sorority life isn’t everything. It’s not like it makes you any better than someone who’s independent. 4 years and then you’re done, whoopie!

What about the people that follow you, but you don’t follow back? You should be able to figure out what that makes you.

I’m sorry, where did I wish anyone bad luck? I said I hope they have a great rush week and end up in one of the 3 houses they decided on before actually going through rush. Also where did I say it’s bad if someone doesn’t join a sorority? Where did I even mention independents? I just said if you’re going through rush, keep an open mind. Idk what there is to disagree about with that with. If you’re gonna come at me, at least talk about what I actually said, not stuff you’re making up. Also to the other person who called me a hypocrite, unless you somehow have my insta handle you don’t know my follower count. I follow back every pnm or anyone w Bama in their bio since apparently that is your business. Only accounts I don’t follow back are the creepy old man fake accounts.
