unpopular opinion: most underrated sorority is...
by: ex sorority girlDelta Gamma! Honestly the girls are pretty, they consistently have good grades, and are SUPER involved on campus. They get heat because they're not Old Row and don't fit in with other "top" New Row houses like Pi Phi and Zeta, but tbh they get AWESOME girls that go under the radar each rush and they have one of the best sisterhoods on campus and THAT'S the tea!!

I probably would of had them on pref if still would of been three instead of two. Love my house and still would of ranked it first but I wouldn't of been upset if DG would of been on my bid card :) now I have a few friends in there and they are a really solid house!

Literally no one is saying they are top just underrated
Just as a very new house they have come a long way to solid middle HERE when houses that have stayed bottom 20- 100 years is impressive.
DG is also HUGE nationally, that may of helped. For example I think the DG chapter is about as old as DPE at UGA but they are super small nationally and still the very bottom house. Even with APhi coming on campus in the past few years, they are already way more popular.
(Before you call me a GR troll, I'm from Atlanta. About half of my HS friends are Greek at Georgia)

DG is rated fairly. They're probably at the bottom of the middle which is respectable. They have decent girls and even some outstanding ones, but so do other houses at their approximate level.

DG has plenty of Bama legacies, and lots of legacies from other chapters, too.

I’ll accept DG Iis perfectly good house and offers a great experience for its actives.
Their ranking is correct though, really a sign of how strong the houses are at Bama.
There are subtleties that separate the higher ranked houses from DG, and in a weird way DGs “ignorance” to these subtleties is what holds it back. \n\n\n\n\n

I had a DG roommate. She loves her house, is having a great experience there, doing well and thriving.
That being said, I fully understand the “don’t get the subtleties” comment.
As an example, introduced a friend and later noted they attended an exclusive very well known New England boarding school. The response was a about how the little local small unknown private school she attended was also expensive and exclusive - everyone from there went to college, the great test scores, the scholarships..... Again sure its a fine school but not Exeter.
This played out in many similar ways with her and her friends that year - with things big and small that both included me personally and in conversations about others.
They would take over conversations away believing they knew and experienced the best, toughest or most sensational things.
Always found myself keeping my mouth shut and letting them feel “superior”.
Given my experience, that’s how I see DG.
Miss the subtleties is a great description.
If you don’t get it - It may be the house for you! \n\n\n\n\n

But if they’re middle... and underrated... what it sounds like you’re saying is they should be top. If they’re considered middle and they should be middle then they’re not underrated.
Anyways, DG being solid middle is BECAUSE of those houses that were bottom 20+ years, not in spite of them. DG was extremely lucky that in 2011 PNMs would rather join a colony than the bottom 2 or 3 houses. Alpha phi too for that matter.
