Real answer. Alpha gam had a huge stronghold on Alabama girls for years and was usually considered a top house (the most “small town” of first circle). Unfortunately it’s basically nonexistent outside the south and lots of girls don’t want to pledge a sorority they’ve never heard of. They also resisted taking OOS when enrollment started increasing and fell behind alpha chi, phi mu, etc.

AL girl actually! It’s very obvious at this point that any old row house not pulling top OOS girls has fallen behind. This isn’t 2005 where you could ignore the 50 random out of staters who showed up for rush.

^^^ Yep—she’s absolutely right. Other than a FEW Southern chapters, Alpha Gamma Delta is basically unknown in the rest of the country.
Everybody is mobile now, and if you move outside of Tuscaloosa or Birmingham, there is no alumnae group or chapter to advise. It was bound to catch up with them sooner or later.

It's not so much that they're nonexistent or unknown outside of Alabama as they're just not very good—they have plenty of chapters, but Bama and Auburn are basically their only strong ones at huge Greek schools. Elsewhere, even their chapters that have been around 100+ years are bottom or close to it ... including their Alpha chapter at Syracuse.
