tent talk
by: advice
PNMs, "tent talk" is the gossip you will hear when you standing under the tents waiting to go in a house (or at night or on greekrank or from your friend's sister or from your older brother).
Tent talk can be deadly to your recruitment. People are going to say all kinds of things about houses -- some of them may be houses you love.
My advice is to ignore tent talk completely and let your own feelings be your guide as to which house is right for you. If you're going to Kappa and Gamma Phi and you really like the Gamma Phis better -------> go Gamma Phi even though EVERYONE will say it's social suicide. You know yourself better and you know what will make you feel happy during your college years.
I have friends who cut sororities that they loved for ones that were higher in rank. Sometimes (seldom) it worked out. Most of the time they've been miserable.
I'm not from a lower tier sorority trying to talk you into ditching the top tier. :) I'm just giving my honest advice that you should follow your heart, not the gossip you inevitably hear in picking a house.
